Amongst the fundraisers were the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan (Cllr Fred Johnson) and Deputy Mayor of Barry (Cllr Charlotte Williams). The event featured delicious food provided by the Vegetarian Food Studio as well as many raffle prizes such as Indian crafts, wine chocolates and scented candles which were generously donated by individuals.
By the end of the night we raised over £700 which could not be done without our supporters and of course Vale of Africa member Dr Has Shah for organising the event. The money raised will be used to help with the eyecare project in Uganda, our next visit is due in September. In addition it shall be used to support the Vale for Africa scholarship student Jacqueline Abbo, who shall be arriving at Atlantic College in August.
