Projects Student Scholarship Programme
The Vale for Africa Scholarship enables a student from Tororo to come to Wales for two years, to study at the world renowned Atlantic College, St Donats. Atlantic College is one of only fourteen residential colleges in the world, forming the United World College movement.
Students from 90 countries arrive at St Donats to take part in a two year programme, combining academic studies, outdoor activities and community service.
The Vale for Africa student is chosen after a rigourous selection process, which takes place in Uganda.
The first student, Batholomew, arrived in Wales in 2011, and after his two years here he graduated with flying colours, and went on to study engineering at the University of Florida, USA.
In 2013 we welcomed Isaac, a keen basketball player who is doing well. Members of Vale for Africa do all they can to make the student feel welcome, and to help out wherever possible.
Vale for Africa is unique among the Wales Africa projects in being able to provide this kind of support for a student from our link community, and we place great value on the scholarship.
