Projects Waterpipe

Pomade Primary School, in the Tororo District, has 1300 pupils, and every day before school starts some of the young girl pupils walk to a well 2k away from the school, fill pitchers with water and carry them back to the school. They have to do this because there is no plumbing to carry water to the school. The water they carry in is used for cooking, washing and hygiene,  and is also important for damping down the floors in the classrooms.

Thanks to our friends in Cowbridge Rotary, this situation will soon be improved, as they are funding the construction of a pipe which will carry water directly to the school. This will make a huge difference to the quality of life and wellbeing of all the pupils, and it is hoped that this project can be extended to other schools in the area.
